Dora the Explorer
Dora the Explorer is an
animated adventure series starring Dora, a 7-year-old Latina heroine
who lives inside a computer. In every episode Dora and her best
friend, a monkey named Boots, invite the viewers to participate in
an exciting adventure. Kids must help Dora solve a problem or puzzle
to get through the adventure. The show is designed to actively
engage preschoolers in a play-along, CD-ROM style quest using many
styles of learning. Dora is proudly bilingual and uses her knowledge
of English and Spanish to communicate with her friends, overcome
obstacles and reach her goals. Swiper the Fox sneaks through Dora's
world and tries to swipe things and hide them. The viewer always
sees Swiper coming before Dora does and needs to stop him from
swiping by calling out. "Swiper, no swiping!"
